About Beacon House

A quaint, detached, traditional Pembrokeshire cottage, built circa 1850's, Beacon House is situated in the heart of Marloes, overlooking the historic clock tower and next door to the recommended Lobster Pot restaurant. Renovated to retain its original character with wood panelling, beams and low ceilings. Simply furnished, the cosy lounge has a woodburning stove for chilly evenings, while the cleverly designed compact kitchen leads out to the large, lawned garden with pretty fruit trees, a perfect spot for children to play. Narrow stairs lead from the dining room to the cottage style bedrooms set in the eaves.

Conveniently located with a pub close by; St Ishmaels garden centre cafe, Nic's cafe, do takeaway sandwiches to enjoy as a picnic. The two beautiful beaches of Musslewick and Marloes Sands are only 1 mile away or why not explore the area on foot, the Puffin bus stop is just opposite. Also the popular watersports centre in Dale is just over 2 miles away. A perfect holiday base from which to explore.

Approached via a B-road. Beacon House is accessed by double gates at the end of a long hedge on the left. There is hard standing for at least two cars and a large, enclosed lawned garden to the side. The cottage is reached by a slight grass incline or a concrete path with a shallow step and one wide step to the front door. Inside there is a small entrance hall with a door to the comfortable lounge with a wood burner and TV etc. and the spacious dining room and lounge with access to the steep cottage stairs leading to the two bedrooms. Another door from the dining room leads to the small but well-equipped kitchen with back door and step up to back patio area and gardens. The downstairs bathroom has shower/whb/wc. The Puffin Bus and local bus service stops a few yards from the front gate and the village shop. Restaurants and dog friendly pub are all within easy walking distance. This cottage was built by the present owner’s Great Grandfather and has remained in the family since the 19th century, as a much loved dwelling.

A beautiful, cosy cottage in a part of Pembrokeshire the we haven't visited before. Amazing location, fab garden for our 14 week old Labrador pup :)

Thanks for a lovely week here - we've been pottering around mostly in Dale/Marloes vicinity, and taking advantage of fishing, beaches and sunsets. Lots of walking! Thanks for your recommendation of pizzas, which were yummy. Lobster pot also very handy for our purposes. All good notes.

Lovely cottage and so quiet, just what we needed. Landlord caters for all ages with entertainment e.g. DVDs, books, games etc. Pub friendly, take the time to read oven book, it works a dream, even managed to cook a Sunday roast. Thanks Di!

Diolch yn fawr! Lovely cottage with everything we needed. The log fire is great. The Clock House cafe is very friendly - great for coffee and cake after a long walk. Ponds near Runwayskiln are excellent for bird watching - lots of different ducks! Thank you Diane for being at the end of the phone when we had an issue with the hot tap. Was lovely speaking to you.
